PSG’s Pursuit of Victor Osimhen Stalls Over Napoli’s Demands

Napoli’s high demands have reportedly forced Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to halt their efforts to acquire Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. Despite Osimhen’s determination to leave Napoli this summer, he remains with the Italian club, where he is under contract until June 30, 2026.

Recently, it seemed Osimhen was set to join PSG, who are looking to replace Kylian Mbappe following his move to Real Madrid in June. Osimhen and PSG had reportedly agreed on personal terms, with the deal expected to earn the reigning African Player of the Year €14 million per season.

However, negotiations stalled when Napoli insisted on including PSG’s Kang-in Lee in a cash-plus-player swap deal. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano explained, “Negotiations between PSG and Napoli for Osimhen are not advancing after recent talks. PSG rejected including Kang-in Lee in the deal and will not trigger the release clause as Napoli wanted. The deal is not happening under these conditions. PSG is also happy with Ramos and Kolo Muani.”

This impasse means Osimhen could start the new season with Napoli, with his €130 million release clause being a significant barrier to securing a move. Romano noted, “Osimhen’s priority remains to leave Napoli this summer,” and suggested the striker might consider offers from the Saudi Pro League.

Romano added on X, “Paris Saint-Germain won’t pay the clause and talks are on stand-by at current conditions, with no chance to include Kang-in Lee. Osimhen could also consider Saudi League bids, as Napoli want Lukaku to replace him.”

As the situation stands, Osimhen’s future remains uncertain, with his aspirations of leaving Europe potentially hinging on developments in the Saudi Pro League.
