Nigerian singer Yemi Alade has disclosed her strategy for steering clear of controversies in the entertainment industry, emphasizing her approach during the listening party for her new album, ‘Rebel Queen,’ in Lagos State.

Alade explained that she manages negative criticisms by simply ignoring them, focusing instead on living her life positively. She emphasized that everyone is entitled to their opinions, and she chooses to move away from anything that does not resonate with her.

“I don’t think about it [negative criticisms] too much. I’m just living my life because it’s only one life I’ve,” she stated. “Once I see or hear anything that doesn’t resonate with me I look the other way and I keep it moving. Because everybody is entitled to their opinions.”

Separately, Yemi Alade criticized the Lagos State government for its ongoing demolition of houses in the Mende area, arguing that such actions undermine real estate investments and make life harder for citizens. She urged the government to consider compensating affected legal buyers for their losses.

Alade’s comments reflect her proactive stance on personal and societal issues while maintaining a focus on her artistic career and personal well-being.
