Former Italy international and current Udinese manager, Fabio Cannavaro, has offered his perspective on the potential transfer moves involving Victor Osimhen and Romelu Lukaku at Napoli, according to reports from Soccernet.ng.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has indicated Napoli’s interest in securing Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan as a potential replacement if Nigerian star Victor Osimhen departs the club.

Cannavaro emphasized the importance of Osimhen’s partnership with teammate Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, suggesting that Napoli would greatly benefit from retaining both players for another season.

“If Napoli can hold onto Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia, it would be very advantageous. Last year, I studied it very carefully: they are very strong,” Cannavaro commented.

The 50-year-old Italian also highlighted Osimhen’s goal-scoring efficiency, noting that the Nigerian requires fewer chances to score compared to Lukaku.

“Osimhen touches the ball twice and scores three goals. He is unpredictable and needs fewer chances than Lukaku,” Cannavaro added. He further suggested that under manager Antonio Conte, players are positioned strategically, with added value coming from Oriali, who facilitates Osimhen’s role by minimizing peripheral tasks and allowing him to focus on team contributions.

Earlier reports from Soccernet.ng also indicated interest from Paris Saint-Germain in signing Osimhen, although they are reluctant to meet Napoli’s €130 million release clause.
