The All Progressives Congress (APC) emphasized that unity among its members is crucial for the party’s development and the progress of Nigeria.

Alhaji Zakari Babale, Secretary of the APC Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), made this statement on Thursday, July 11, in Abuja while welcoming Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim, the recently retired legal advisor and director of legal services from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), into the party.

Babale, who also serves as Chairman of the APC FCT Secretary’s Forum, expressed confidence that Ibrahim’s inclusion would help rejuvenate and strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. He acknowledged that the FCT chapter of the party faced challenges but urged members to unite and support President Bola Tinubu’s administration in building a better society.

He stressed the importance of unity and commitment among APC members in implementing Tinubu’s Renewal Hope Agenda, which he believes is vital for the country’s development. Babale called on party members to remain steadfast in their support, especially when opposition parties attempt to undermine the government with negative propaganda.

He urged the party members to work together to promote the federal government’s policies and programs in the interest of all Nigerians. Additionally, he appealed to the public to be patient with President Tinubu, acknowledging that while his economic policies might be painful, they are designed for the country’s long-term benefit.

Receiving Ibrahim on behalf of the council’s chairman, Alhaji Abbas Baba, Babale described him as a valuable asset who has demonstrated his commitment to national service over the years. Ibrahim’s decision to join the APC, despite having no prior political involvement, was seen as a strategic move.

Ibrahim stated that his decision to join the APC was driven by his conviction that the party has the best interests of Nigerians at heart. He emphasized the need to support President Tinubu’s vision and policies to move the country forward. Despite Nigeria’s challenges, Ibrahim noted significant achievements under Tinubu’s leadership in areas such as security, agriculture, education, health, youth development, human capital development, and social investment.

He highlighted that the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda is already making progress, especially in youth inclusion in politics and governance. Ibrahim commended the administration’s efforts in stabilizing the political landscape, improving the economy, and enhancing bilateral relations with other countries. He also praised the government for giving a voice to the voiceless through its commitment to human rights and inclusive appointments.

Ibrahim concluded by calling on all Nigerians to support President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and contribute to national development, stressing that collective efforts are necessary to elevate the country to greater heights.
