The Rivers State Government has dismissed the call for an emergency rule by Tony Okocha, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, labeling his statements as “Bobo juice.”

Joseph Johnson, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, responded to Okocha’s remarks, describing them as not worthy of serious attention.

Johnson criticized Okocha for his history of spreading misinformation and scaremongering, asserting that his statements are not taken seriously in the state. He cited past instances where Okocha’s claims were proven false.

“On Tony Okocha, I don’t think what he said is worth giving any attention. We should not break our heads over what Tony Okocha said. The other time he claimed there was a cholera outbreak, but medical personnel found nothing. He also falsely claimed to welcome members of the House of Assembly who defeated the APC, and talked about initiating impeachment of the governor, none of which materialized,” Johnson remarked.

He further dismissed Okocha’s comments as “Bobo juice,” adding, “He is talking to himself, not to anybody, and certainly not to Rivers people.”

Johnson emphasized that the Rivers state government remains focused on addressing the genuine needs and concerns of its citizens.
