    ABKF holds special prayer for Late Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim

    The Abubakar Kawu Baraje Foundation (ABKF) has held a special prayer for the repose of the soul of late former Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial District and member of the Board of trustees of the Foundation, Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim.

    The prayer session, which held at the premises of the Abubakar Kawu Baraje Arabic and Islamic College, along Gerewu area, Ilorin, was led by an Islamic scholar, Sheikh Abdulkadir Maimasa, who emphasised the importance of praying for the deceased.

    The cleric raised special prayer for the late Senator, the family he left behind, and Ojoku town, the country home of the deceased.

    Earlier, the Chairman of the Governing and Management Board of Abubakar Kawu Baraje of the College and retired Grand Khadi of the Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal, Justice Solihu Olohuntoyin Muhammed, spoke on the personality of the departed lawmaker, saying: “Our late brother, meant different person to different people. But for us here, he was a good and committed person, who truly loved God and served Allah genuinely with all he had.

    “His death was a personal loss to various individuals under different guise.”

    Speaking in the same vein, the Chairman, Board of Trustee, Abubakar Kawu Baraje Foundation (AKBF), Lawyer Adebayo Oba Adelodun, SAN, described the late Senator as a worthy member of the Foundation and very hardworking member of the board.

    According to him, he contributed both materially and financially and made himself available to attend to every need of the foundation.

    Adelodun confirmed that Late Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim, was a committed member of the board of trustees and a good Muslim as well.

    In his words, the founder of the Foundation and Tafida Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, also spoke on the many qualities and commitments of the late lawmaker.

    He particularly mentioned various efforts the deceased made in the formation and sustenance of the foundation.

    Baraje said: “He was one of the brains behind the formation of the foundation.

    “He was too good and did everything possible to sustain the foundation.

    “if we as a foundation chooses to pick a day, week, month and year to be praying for his soul, it will not be enough.”

    He thanked the Olojoku, Oba AbdulRazaq Afolabi, who was ably represented by his wife and family, for attending the Fidau prayer .
    Prominent personalities present at the occasion, include Chairman, Governing Board, Justice S.O. Mohammed, former Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Prof Alli Ahmad, former State Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, Engr. Kola Shittu, former Commissioner for Health, Hon. Atolagbe Alege, former National President of the IEDPU, Ambassador Sheikh AbdulAzeez, Former Chief of Staff, Alhaji Ladi Hassan, Hajia Nimota Ibrahim, former member, Kwara State House of Assembly, among others.

    Late Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim died on 17th April, 2024 at the age of 57.

    He was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).
