    Federal Government Announces Public Holiday for 2024 Democracy Day

    The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, June 12, 2024, a public holiday to celebrate this year’s Democracy Day. The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, via a statement from Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry.

    Dr. Tunji-Ojo highlighted the significance of reflecting on the efforts of Nigeria’s founding fathers to ensure the country remains united, secure, peaceful, and indivisible. He congratulated Nigerians on the occasion and encouraged them to uphold the principles of democratic governance.

    Furthermore, Dr. Tunji-Ojo reiterated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to enacting reforms that will boost the nation’s economy and enhance security. He urged Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to appreciate the progress made and to look forward to a more prosperous future for the country’s democracy.
