The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the growth of Industries and empowering entrepreneurs in order to continue to improve the ease of doing business in the state.
The State Commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, said this while receiving the delegation from the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Kwara State Chapter, in her office.
Hon. Damilola disclosed the programmes on Social Intervention Schemes put in place by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to support Artisans, Entrepreneurs, Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs (SMEs), youths and women, assuring the Association that these programmes are meant to support businesses in the state.
Earlier, the delegation had discussed issues affecting the petroleum marketing industry in Kwara State, including the ease of doing business, regulatory frameworks and investment opportunities
Speaking at the meeting, the State Chairman, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Abdulateef Abdulruaf Kamaja, who led other Executive members of the Association to the Ministry, thanked the Kwara State Government for providing an enabling environment for businesses to grow, appreciating the Management of the Ministry for the efforts and for ensuring a successful meeting with IPMAN.
Alhaji Kamaja highlighted that the meeting was an avenue for IPMAN to present proposals for collaboration, seek for government intervention programmes, solve multiple taxation issues and ensure availability of petroleum products in the state to drive innovation and economic development in the petroleum marketing sector.
He also noted that the visit demonstrates the Association’s efforts to engage with the government and stakeholders to address challenges and explore opportunities for growth in the industry.
