The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested four individuals suspected of involvement in multiple kidnapping incidents across the state. According to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, Mansir Hassan, an AK-47 rifle, a locally made pistol, and three cartridges were recovered during the operations.

Three suspects were apprehended in the Lere Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna state based on a tip-off from concerned citizens. The individuals arrested are Isah Baffa Rabo, 30, from Maibindiga Village; Ja’afaru Sale, 30, from Durumi Village; and Umar Musa, 24, also from Durumi Village. These suspects have been implicated in kidnappings for ransom in Zango Kataf and Kachia LGAs. They confessed to being part of a kidnapping syndicate operating in the Lere area and admitted to stealing two cattle, which they sold to Idris Abubakar, 47, from Dokan Lere, who was subsequently arrested. Recovered items included a locally made single-barrel gun, a cutlass, and three mobile phones. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.

In a separate incident, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Tudun Wada Zaria Division, acting on credible intelligence about the suspicious movement of an armed bandit, led a swift operation resulting in the arrest of Hussaini, 70, from Tudun Jukun in Zaria. The arrest took place at approximately 0250 hours, during which an AK-47 rifle, a locally made pistol, and three cartridges were recovered. The suspect is currently assisting police investigations to apprehend his accomplices and will be charged to court upon the completion of the investigation.

The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Ali Dabigi, reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens and pledged to continue taking decisive actions against criminal elements in the state.
