    Glo Wins Champion Telecom Company of the Year Award

    Globacom, known as Glo, has added another prestigious accolade to its list of achievements by receiving the 2023 Champions Newspapers Telecommunication Company of The Year award. The award was bestowed upon Globacom at the annual award ceremony organized by Champion Newspapers Limited at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos over the weekend.

    This recognition further solidifies Globacom’s position as Nigeria’s leading and most innovative telecoms operator, dedicated to providing affordable communication tools that positively impact lives and businesses across the nation.

    Dr. (Mrs) Nwadiuto Iheakanwa, the Managing Director of Champion Newspapers Limited, elaborated on the purpose of the awards ceremony and the criteria for selecting the recipients in her welcome address. She emphasized the importance of recognizing excellence and hard work, aiming to inspire individuals and institutions to continue their positive contributions to society.

    The ceremony attracted distinguished individuals from various sectors, including top players in the private and public sectors, as well as political office holders who have demonstrated excellence in their respective fields. Among the notable attendees were representatives from First Bank, Fidelity Bank, Julius Berger Plc, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Limited, as well as CEOs from UBA, Zenith Bank, and Fidelity Bank.

    Mr. Kelvin Egerue, the Managing Editor of Champion, commended Globacom for its commitment to providing affordable telecommunications services to Nigerians. He highlighted Glo’s dedication to ensuring that Nigerians are not exploited and emphasized the company’s significant contributions to the telecom industry in Nigeria.

    Globacom’s recognition as the Champion Telecom Company of the Year reflects its ongoing efforts to innovate and improve the telecommunications landscape in Nigeria while prioritizing affordability and accessibility for all Nigerians.
