    LG Polls: Kwara dissolves Transition Implementation Committees

    Ahead of the September local government election in Kwara State, the State Government has dissolved the Transition Implementation Committees (TICs) put I’m place to run the affairs of the 16 local councils in lieu of elected officers.

    Directors of Personnel Management (DPM) are to charge of the administration of the 16 local government areas of Kwara State until a new election is held in September.

    This effectively dissolves the Transition Implementation Committees (TICs) earlier appointed to manage the councils pending new local government elections.

    This development comes a few days after the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC) slated the next local council election for September 21, 2024.

    This was contained in a statement issued on Friday evening by Mrs
    Modupe Iyabo Adekeye, the
    Permanent Secretary, Kwara State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Community Development, adding that the Directors, Personnel and Management (DPMs) would take charge as KWSIEC issues LG election date
