    Group Commends NSCDC boss over fight against crimes

    The Niger Delta Peace and Environmental Justice (NDPEJ) has commended Dr. Ahmed Audi,Commandant General (CG) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence (NSCDC) over his dogged fight against oil theft and other criminal activities in the society.

    The group gave the commendation in a statement issued by its Chairman and Secretary, Mr Omos Ovie and Salihu Adamson respectively and made available to journalists in Warri, Delta State.

    They said that the NSCDC had destroyed over 350 illegal refineries in the Niger Delta region, apprehended rail track thieves and among others in line with its statutory mandates.

    Recall that the NSCDC was established in 2003 to provide adequate security of lives and properties of the citizenry as well as National Critical Assets.

    The group said that the security outfit in collaboration with the Tantita Security Service Nigeria Limited (TSSNL)was yielding significant results in the nation’s economy.

    They appreciated the NSCDC boss for his commitment to improving staff welfare and payments of the backlog of the promotions arrears.

    The group also commended the Commandant General for the review of Staff Insurance Scheme which had provided succour to the next of kins of personnel who died in the course of duty.

    They also acknowledge the transformational drive that the NSCDC boss had brought into the security outfit to make it an enviable organization in the country and urged him to sustain it.

    The group said that CG Audi was determined to create a legacy that would stand the test of time in the history of the NSCDC through his numerous developmental programmes.

    Accordng to the group, “the trend in which the NSCDC has risen from obscurity to become one of the most enviable security outfits under Audi’s leadership is rather commendable.

    “The progress and achievements of the Corps under Audi leadership has tremendously changed the narrative and make the organisation more attractive.

    “The motivation of staff has also improved productivity in the organization.

    “The overall assessment has shown that the NSCDC has grown to become an elite organization of international standard and should be allowed to continue under the present Audi led administration,” they said.

    The group highlighted some of the achievements of the NSCDC under the watch of the CG Audi to include:

    Introduction of career progression courses for personnel of the NSCDC; increase in the welfare packages of Corps’ personnel;
    massive acquisition of arms for NSCDC operational use.

    Maintaining effective collaborations with other Security Agencies; robust staff welfare and motivational packages for personnel of NSCDC through massive promotion, conversion and upgrading as well as provision of staff welfare buses.

    Arrest and recovery of critical assets and railway materials worth over 5 billion; initiator of the Save the School innovative program for the protection of vulnerable schools across the country.
    .
    The group, however, prayed God to continue to grant the NSCDC boss the grace and strength to continue to pilot the affairs of the organization.
