The price of Automotive Gas Oil, commonly known as diesel, produced by Dangote Petroleum Refinery has surged from ₦940/litre to ₦1,100/litre. This increase is attributed to the depreciation of the naira against the United States dollar, as reported on Tuesday.

Previously, on April 24, 2024, The PUNCH reported that Dangote Refinery had reduced the prices of diesel and aviation fuel to ₦940/litre and ₦980/litre respectively. However, the recent slump in the naira’s value has necessitated a price hike for diesel, reflecting the ongoing economic challenges and currency fluctuations in Nigeria.
