Renowned Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo recently embraced African traditions by adhering to the practice of giving his first salary from filmmaking to his son, Clinton Mbaise, along with his fatherly blessings.

In a video shared on Kanayo’s Instagram account, he celebrated Clinton’s completion of his first movie production by presenting him with a paycheck of N50,000. Following tradition, Kanayo requested a symbolic N500 from his son’s earnings and then offered prayers for his success in the industry.

Kanayo emphasized the cultural significance of seeking a father’s blessing with the first salary, noting that this practice has historically contributed to the success of many individuals in the country. He stressed that only a father can provide genuine blessings to his child.

Highlighting the importance of financial management, Kanayo explained that the gesture of the father receiving a portion of the son’s salary is intended to impart valuable lessons in financial responsibility.

In contrast, Kanayo discouraged the practice of giving one’s first salary to pastors for blessings, asserting that it does not align with traditional customs.

Overall, Kanayo’s actions serve as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage and familial values that continue to shape Nigerian society.
