    FG Set to Compensate Property Owners for Coastal Highway Demolitions

    The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has disclosed that the federal government is scheduled to disburse N2.75 billion as compensation to property owners affected by demolition activities necessary for the construction of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. This compensation initiative is set to commence today, Wednesday, May 1.

    Umahi outlined that the envisioned highway will span from channel 0 to channel 3, aiming to enhance transportation infrastructure along the coastal regions.

    The announcement was made during a stakeholders meeting convened in Lagos to address concerns and provide updates on the project.

    Umahi further indicated that additional compensation packages are anticipated to be distributed in the near future, demonstrating the government’s commitment to mitigating the impact of infrastructure development on affected communities.
