The Kaduna Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) reported a tragic accident on the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway late Wednesday night, resulting in one fatality and three injuries. Sector Commander Kabir Nadabo confirmed the incident, stating that the crash occurred at Olam along the expressway around 23:01 hrs.

According to Nadabo, the accident involved a Golf salon car with registration number SBG 87 XB traveling from Minna in Niger, which collided with an unnumbered trailer heading towards Kaduna. Initial investigations suggest that over-speeding, driver fatigue, and loss of control were contributing factors to the crash.

A rescue team from RS1.16 Kakau promptly responded to the scene, recovering a sum of N8.7 million. Nadabo clarified that six individuals were involved in the accident, with three sustaining varying degrees of injury. Tragically, the driver of the Golf car lost his life in the collision.

The injured victims were swiftly transported to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna for medical attention. The N8.7 million recovered from the accident is currently in the possession of the FRSC Command, awaiting identification of the rightful owner.
