In a significant development, the Rivers State Ethnic Youth Leaders Coalition has urged Chief Chukwuemeka Woke, the Commissioner for Special Projects, to offer an apology to Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his purported disparaging remarks against the state’s current administration.

Issuing a statement in Port Harcourt on Friday, the youth leaders emphasized the importance of Governor Fubara exercising discernment and decisiveness in dealing with disloyalty within his cabinet.

Dr. Legborsi Yamaabana, the group’s chairman, stressed the primacy of the state’s interests and citizens’ welfare over personal agendas and political maneuvers. The statement underscored the necessity for governance to uphold principles of integrity, loyalty, and service to the people.

The group highlighted Chief Woke’s conduct, citing his history of resignation and subsequent unrepentant return as indicative of a troubling trend driven by self-interest rather than public welfare.

The statement further urged Governor Fubara to address disloyalty within his administration decisively, emphasizing that the collective well-being of Rivers State and its citizens must always take precedence.

Expressing disappointment over Chief Woke’s remarks, the group demanded an immediate retraction and a sincere apology to Governor Fubara and the Rivers State government. Failure to comply, they warned, would only deepen the rift and signify a grave betrayal of the administration.

The youth leaders commended Dr. Peter Odili, former Rivers State Governor and elder statesman, for his steadfast support for Governor Fubara’s leadership and the aspirations of Rivers people. They called for unity, accountability, and dedication to propel the state towards a brighter and more prosperous future.
