On March 13th, 2024, a significant development unfolded as members of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore converged in large numbers at the Federal High Court in Abuja. Their objective? To demand the immediate release of their president, Bello Bodejo.

Bodejo’s arrest on January 23rd at the Miyetti Allah’s office in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State stemmed from his involvement in the unveiling of a vigilante group. Since then, he has been detained under the custody of the Defence Intelligence Agency.

In response to this, the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), filed a motion ex-parte on February 5th, seeking to keep Bodejo in custody pending the conclusion of investigations and subsequent court arraignment.

However, Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court ruled on the matter, granting an order for Bodejo’s remand for a period of 15 days.

During the proceedings on February 22nd, the judge directed the Federal Government to file charges against Bodejo within seven days, further intensifying the legal proceedings surrounding this case.
