Reports indicate that cult leader Gift Okpara, widely known as 2Baba, was allegedly killed during a joint security operation at his gang’s hideout in Idu-Ekpeye, Rivers State, on Saturday, February 17, 2024, according to the Nation.

According to a senior police officer speaking anonymously, 2Baba sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the operation.

While there has been no official confirmation of 2Baba’s death, communities in Ahoada were reportedly celebrating upon hearing the news of the cult leader’s alleged demise.

In September 2023, 2Baba’s gang was allegedly involved in the ambush and capture of Divisional Police Officer Bako Angbashim in the Odiemudie community, Ahoada East LGA. The DPO was subsequently taken to the forest, where he was allegedly killed and dismembered by 2Baba and his gang.

As of the time of this report, police authorities had not yet confirmed the reported incident.
