    Tinubu Commends Super Eagles’ Resilience Despite AFCON Final Loss

    President Bola Tinubu has lauded the Super Eagles for their commendable performance in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final held in Ivory Coast, despite their defeat to the host nation.

    In a statement released by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Tinubu acknowledged the resilience and talent displayed by the Eagles throughout the tournament.

    Although the Elephants of Ivory Coast emerged victorious in the final with a 2-1 win over the Super Eagles, Tinubu emphasized Nigeria’s significant achievement in showcasing determination and skill on the continental and global stage.

    The statement quoted Tinubu as saying, “President Bola Tinubu salutes the Super Eagles of Nigeria for their tenacious performance in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire.”

    Tinubu praised the entire team, including the coach, crew, and management, for their dedication and perseverance, highlighting the obstacles they overcame and their consistent improvement throughout the tournament.

    While urging Nigerians to remain optimistic and united despite the loss, Tinubu emphasized the nation’s enduring spirit of resilience, hope, and unity symbolized by the green-white-green banner.

    He encouraged Nigerian youths to continue pursuing their dreams, assuring them of his administration’s support in making those dreams a reality.

    In conclusion, Tinubu’s statement conveyed both admiration for the Super Eagles’ performance and a message of encouragement to all Nigerians to persevere and strive for greatness.
