Zaidu Sanusi has reentered the running for a starting position in Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final against the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire, having resumed full training on Friday night.

Sanusi, who missed Nigeria’s semi-final victory over Bafana Bafana of South Africa due to injury, actively participated in all training drills at the Police College Cocody in Abidjan.

In contrast, Victor Osimhen and William Troost-Ekong were absent from the training session, having been given a rest. Both players are expected to join the final training session scheduled for Saturday.

The Super Eagles are set to face the hosts at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Sunday in the much-anticipated Africa Cup of Nations final
