The Lagos State Police Command has successfully arrested a suspected cult leader, who was part of a gang attempting to forcefully take control of a tricycle (Keke Maruwa) park in the Fadeyi area. SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed this arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Lagos.

Hundeyin stated that the apprehension took place on Wednesday, orchestrated by operatives from the Onipanu Police Division. The police had received information regarding six suspected cult members causing disturbances among commercial tricycle operators at the Keke Maruwa park in the Fayedi area.

Armed with dangerous weapons, including guns, cutlasses, and axes, the suspects disrupted park activities and attempted to assault the park chairman. Acting promptly upon receiving the information, a team of anti-crime operatives arrived at the scene, leading to the arrest of Seun Olatunbosu, 29 years old. Olatunbosu was found in possession of a locally made pistol and two live cartridges, while the others managed to escape.

In the course of the investigation, the arrested suspect confessed to being a member of the Black Axe confraternity. The police spokesperson assured that efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining members of the gang.
