In a successful operation, local security agents, commonly known as vigilantes, killed four bandits after they launched an attack on a village in Dan-Umaru, Bena District, Kebbi State. The Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, Ahmed Idris, confirmed the incident in a statement, quoting the Director of Security at the Cabinet Office, AbdulRahman Usman.

According to Usman, the vigilantes strategically positioned themselves and neutralized the bandits during the attack on a village near Dan-Umaru, which borders Dadin Duniya in the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The vigilantes successfully thwarted the bandit attack, and all four attackers were killed during the ambush as they attempted to retreat to Zamfara State.
