    APC’s Uzodimma wins with 540,308 votes

    Imo state Governor Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won in all 27 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Imo state.

    According to the Independent National Electoral Commission, Uzodimma score a total of 540, 308 to defeated the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Samuel Anyanwu who got a total of 71,503 votes across the state while the Labour Party candidate, Athan Achonu, garnered a total of 64,081 votes.

    The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Prof Abayomi Fashina, who was the state Returning Officer declared Uzodimma winner of the Saturday’s poll around 10 am on Sunday after over eight hours of collation of local government results.

    “That you Hope Uzodimma of APC having satisfied the law is hereby returned elected,” Fashina declared.

    All Nigeria Latest News reports that the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party have called for a total cancellation of the poll.

    The parties alleged that security agents allegedly connived with INEC staff to allow members of the APC to rig the election.

    Below are the top five results in the state election:

    Hope Uzodimma (APC): 540,308 votes.

    Samuel Anyanwu (PDP): 71,503 votes

    Athan Achonu (LP): 64,081 votes

    Tony Ejiogu (APGA): 6,392 votes.

    Jack Ogunewe (AA): 5,756 votes
