    Abducted INEC official regains freedom

    The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says its Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO) assigned to Registration Area – 06 (Ossioma) in Sagbama local government area of the state has regained his freedom.
    Mr Wilfred Ifogah, Head of Voter Education and Publicity at INEC State Headquarter in Yenagoa confirmed the development in a statement on Saturday.
    According to Ifogah, the officer is hale and hearty.

    The abduction occured on Friday, the eve of the election.

    The SPO, whose name was not disclosed, was abducted while waiting to board a boat to his area of assignment at Amassoma Jetty.
    Police Spokesman in Bayelsa CSP Asinim Butswat could not be reached for comments.
