Candidate of the Action Alliance AA in November 11 State Governorship Election, Olayinka Braimoh has promised to revamp and reposition the economy of the state using social investments and job creation strategies, if elected.

Braimoh reiterated that the cardinal objective of his candidacy was to lift the people out of poverty, through accelerating economic growth and transformation.

The AA governorship candidate spoke in Aiyegunle-Gbede, Ijumu Local Government Area, on Friday while addressing Islamic worshippers after the juma’at prayer session.

He said as governor of the state, his administration will design economic policies and programs that would banish poverty from the land, adding that the youth would be gainfully employed, and the women would also be empowered.

He restated that his aspiration is anchored on the principle of mitigating the poverty and hardship that had been foisted on the people.

At a town hall meeting with Stakeholders in Ayeh-Gbedde, Braimoh blamed the ravaging poverty in the state on the rising unemployment rate and deliberate pauperisation of the people, noting that his administration will create jobs to ameliorate their situation.

The candidate promised to remove all barriers militating against the economic growth and development of the state, and return children to school if elected president in November.

He assured the people that by 2026, his administration would have relegated poverty to the background using cost-effective, more efficient and sustainable entrepreneurship development schemes.

The governorship hopeful assured the community of government presence if elected.

Afterwards, he took his message of economic redemption to the Iffe-Olukotun community where he was received by Islamic clerics and multitudes of party supporters and loyalists.

Braimoh urged the people to be resolute in their resolve to break the circle of poverty bedevilling the people of the state, adding that religion cannot be divorced from politics.

While dispelling the rumour making the rounds, Braimoh explained that he had no political pact with neither Governor Yahaya Bello, the APC nor any other governorship contenders to scuttle his ambition.

According to him, he had never met Gov. Bello or the APC candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo, insisting that his main concern was the emancipation of the vulnerable and downtrodden in the state.

He urged the people of the area to support his aspiration and dream of transforming the state from its ailing condition by voting massively for the AA in the forthcoming governorship election.

The people pleaded with the AA candidate to assist their communities with the rehabilitation of roads, electrification and other essential social amenities to improve their standard of living and disposition.
