    After 3 years of hide and seek, the Supreme Court of Nigeria will on October 31st seat to determine the application filed in year 2020 praying the Apex court to determine if Gov Hope Uzodimma was nominated and sponsored by APC as the candidate of the party for the 2019 Imo state governorship election.

    This application arose from the decision of the Supreme Court in the case of Sir Uche Nwosu and Action Alliance party where the Supreme Court disqualified Sir Nwosu on the ground that he nominated by both APC and AA as their gubernatorial candidate of both parties.

    Having established that Nwosu was the candidate of APC for 2019 Imo state governorship, the Supreme Court went ahead to sack Gov Emeka Ihedioha and declare Hope Uzodimma the winner of the election.

    The question the Supreme Court will determine on October 31st;

    1. Which political party nominated and Sponsored Gov Hope Uzodimma in the 2019 governorship election?
    2. Can anyone be declared a governor or winner of an election without being sponsored by a political party?
    3. Having determined that Nwosu was the candidate of APC in the 2019 governorship election, how did the Supreme Court come about Hope Uzodimma as winner of the election on the platform of APC?

    With this latest, there are tensions in the camp of Hope Uzodimma as his illegal administration may come to a halt on October 31st.
