In a distressing incident, armed gunmen have abducted the wife and two children of Hon. Lawal Ayanshola Soliu, the lawmaker representing Ipaiye/Malete/Olooru of Moro Local Government in the Kwara State House of Assembly.

The abduction occurred on a Monday evening when the assailants, brandishing AK-47 rifles, invaded the lawmaker’s residence at approximately 1:00 a.m. Startlingly, they fired shots into the air to intimidate neighbors before forcibly taking the victims away.

As of the time of reporting, the whereabouts of the kidnapped individuals remain unknown. One of the kidnappers reportedly contacted the family, revealing that he had not yet joined his accomplices in the forest to negotiate their ransom.

Efforts to reach the lawmaker for comment via telephone were unsuccessful.

The Kwara state police command’s spokesperson, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident, but emphasized that details are still limited, promising to provide comprehensive information as it becomes available.
