The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced its intention to manually transmit the results of the upcoming Bayelsa governorship election on November 11. The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Obo Effanga, made this statement during an interactive session with religious leaders and faith-based organizations in Yenagoa. Effanga assured stakeholders that INEC was prepared to conduct a free, fair, and credible election, allowing only accredited voters to cast their ballots. He emphasized the ongoing collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and urged eligible voters to collect their cards before the deadline on October 11. Effanga also urged religious leaders to promote peace among their congregations and advised politicians to maintain a peaceful election atmosphere. Sixteen political parties have fielded candidates for the election.
