Former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, has boldly predicted that Arsenal will clinch the Premier League title ahead of Manchester City this season.

City faced an unexpected setback with a 2-1 loss to Wolves on Saturday, while Arsenal delivered an impressive 4-0 victory against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s side has now suffered consecutive defeats, following their Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Newcastle United.

In the current standings, Arsenal trails league leaders Man City by just a single point after seven matches this season.

“I have got Arsenal to win the league this year,” Neville stated on his podcast.

“Considering the toll of winning the treble, it must have taken a lot out of those City players and staff. They could very well secure the league title this season. Of course, it’s early days and it’s just one game, but results like this provide a boost for other teams.

“We’ve seen City lose games in the past and then embark on remarkable winning streaks, so we can’t count them out. However, Arsenal will take a lot of encouragement from this. Guardiola fielded a strong team against Newcastle, and yet, they faltered. At Wolves, they conceded goals, went behind in the game, and looked vulnerable.

“It’s going to be intriguing. If Arsenal can maintain the fitness of their key players, they have a genuine shot at the title this season.”
