The Deputy Director General and Spokesperson of the LP Okeme/Hamza Campaign Council, Hon. Nelson Ogohi has debunked the news making the rounds about alleged defection of 21 LGA Labour Party Chairmen.

Speaking with journalists from the Okeme/Hamza Campaign Council Secretariat, Hon. Nelson made it abundantly clear that the huge success of the Guber Campaign Flag Off held on Thursday, 21st September which had in attendance the Presidential Candidate, His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi, dragged men, women, boys and girls from all works of life and came as a huge shock to the entire Establishment in the state and rattled the political landscape at this critical time.

“Everyone now knows that our party and campaign flag off created ripples all over the state and has led to the orchestration of falsehood born out of the jitters currently in the air around the ruling party, APC.”

He further stated that “It is abundantly clear that we the Labour Party with our excellent candidate and his deputy have the strength, structure, strategies and sagacity required to takeover power come 11th November and all the young people, especially the Obidient Movement that created a formidable 3rd Force in Nigeria in just 7 months, are all in sync and will stop at nothing until our dear State is rescued from maladministration and political rascality”.

“To this end, I urge all our party members, members of the Campaign Organization, party leaders and Peter Obi Support Groups to exercise restraint and counter these blatant lies and falsehood with objective positioning, solution mindedness and the verifiable records of the public and private lives of our principals as has always been our custom, and not to join in baseless fables and unnecessary banters.”

“We are here to win the election and reposition our great State, Transforming it from the poverty capital of Nigeria to the Dubai of Africa – From a civil service State dependent solely on FG allocations to a self-reliant, self-dependent and strategically developed State, making Kogi State the pride of Nigeria. This New Kogi State is POssible!”

” I have spoken with the State Party Leadership and I was reliably informed that the people shown and paraded in the pictures by APC media platforms are not our Chairmen or leaders in any form. They are not recognized by our party leadership and do not have any appointment letters to the effect that they are party Chairmen.

I even pity the APC candidate for allowing himself to be scammed in such a manner. If I were him, I’ll ask the so called party Chairmen for their appointment letters or membership cards. And for the media, kindly verify informations before sending them out to the public space.”

He thanked newsmen for coming to know the state of affairs of the Campaign Organization and have free access to all news channels to boldly come to the Council Office to get authentic information on news that have to do with the Governorship Campaign.
