Apapa’s Faction of Labour Party Questions Peter Obi’s University Certificate

The Lamidi Apapa faction of the Labour Party has raised allegations against Peter Obi, who has accused President Bola Tinubu of certificate fraud. They claim that Obi is also concealing his own university certificate.

According to the Apapa faction, whose legitimacy was recently affirmed by the Edo Division of the Court of Appeal, Peter Obi deliberately omitted his university certificate from his 2023 presidential form to avoid scrutiny.

Abayomi Arabambi, the spokesman for the legally recognized Labour Party, stated that Peter Obi will not be permitted to run on the Labour Party platform in 2027. Arabambi advised Obi to prepare for the 2027 elections but not within the Labour Party, emphasizing that they will seek a fresh candidate.

Arabambi stated, “Obi is free to go back to APGA to run, not Labour Party. We don’t want to continue accommodating a character who believes no other person, other than himself, has anything upstairs. He is not a good manager of human resources. That was why he lost woefully.”

He also questioned why Obi, who accuses President Tinubu of certificate fraud, did not present his B.Sc. on his 2023 presidential form, using his school certificate instead. Arabambi suggested that Obi might be hiding his B.Sc. because he knows that the authenticity of the certificate could be verified through the vice chancellor or the registrar.

In response to the Apapa faction’s claims, the LP National Legal Adviser, Kehinde Edun, criticized them, stating that the Independent National Electoral Commission recognizes the Abure faction of the Labour Party.
