In a recent development, the tribunal has taken action in the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, removing Attah of the Labour Party (LP) and ordering a supplementary election.
According to information gathered by Pulse, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been instructed by the court to conduct a supplementary election within 90 days in 32 polling units of Eti-Osa.
Ibrahim Obanikoro, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, confirmed this development in a public statement. He stated, “The Feb 25 election has just been rightly declared inconclusive and Supplementary elections have been ordered by the court. INEC has been ordered to withdraw the return certificate issued and conduct elections in areas where the election didn’t take place on Election Day.”
This decision comes after Attah’s initial declaration as the winner of the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat was met with resistance from Eti-Osa residents and faced legal challenges from opposing parties.
