The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT) is said to have designated Saturday, September 16 as the scheduled day for announcing its final decision regarding the 2023 presidential election’s outcome.

The PEPT has purportedly chosen Saturday, September 16 as the designated date for delivering its conclusive verdict on the results of the 2023 presidential election.

Anticipated to be disclosed during this ruling is the tribunal’s decision on the legal challenge against the electoral win of President Bola Tinubu, who represented the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 25 electoral contest.

As a reminder, subsequent to the presentation of the concluding written arguments from the involved parties in the case, the five-member tribunal, led by Justice Haruna Simon Tsamani, reserved judgment and indicated that a specific date for announcing the verdict would be communicated to the concerned parties and their legal representatives.

According to several sources, the tribunal has reportedly selected September 16 as the date for issuing the judgment.

This reported date signifies the ultimate available day for the tribunal to convey its decision concerning the three petitions initiated by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party (LP), and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), along with their respective presidential candidates: Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Mr. Peter Obi, and Princess Chichi Ojei.

The accused parties in these cases include Tinubu, the APC, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

However, there is no official statement from the tribunal yet regarding the precise date for delivering its judgment.
