The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has reportedly sealed the office of Igbinoba Jennifer, known for her brand Jenny’s Glow, in Abuja.
A video circulating online showed NAFDAC officials sealing the office, allegedly due to the skincare products not being registered with the agency. There were allegations that a fake NAFDAC registration number was being used for the sale of these products.
This incident follows recent controversy involving the beauty entrepreneur. One of her clients, Amaka Duru, took to social media to accuse her of selling products that caused damage to her skin. This led to a public altercation, and Amaka was reportedly taken away by the police.
Amidst the backlash, Igbinoba responded by sharing her NAFDAC registration certificate on Instagram, clarifying that her office was not sealed but some products were put on hold awaiting approval. She emphasized that certain products in her range had already been approved for years and were safe for use. She also suggested that there might be individuals trying to defame her brand.
Jenny’s Glow is now in the spotlight due to the NAFDAC seal and the ongoing dispute regarding the safety and legitimacy of its skincare products.
