    CAF President Applauds Nigeria, South Africa, and Morocco for Historic Women’s World Cup Milestone

    CAF President, Patrice Motsepe, has extended his warmest congratulations to Nigeria, South Africa, and Morocco for their remarkable achievements in the ongoing 2023 Women’s World Cup in New Zealand and Australia. These three African nations have made history by securing their spots in the round of 16, marking a significant milestone for women’s football in the continent.

    Nigeria’s Super Falcons displayed their skills with two draws and a win, securing the second position in Group B, while South Africa and Morocco also showcased their determination and talent by finishing second in their respective groups. This marks the first time in the history of the Women’s World Cup that Africa will have three representatives in the knockout stage.

    President Patrice Motsepe praised the three teams for their outstanding performances and well-deserved qualification to the round of 16. He conveyed the congratulations of CAF and its 54 member nations to the Women’s Teams of Nigeria, Morocco, and South Africa, highlighting the immense pride they bring to their countries and the entire African continent.

    The CAF President expressed his belief in the bright future of women’s football in Africa, attributing it to the victories and successes of the Nigerian, Moroccan, and South African women’s teams. He emphasized that these accomplishments will significantly contribute to the development and growth of women’s football across the continent.

    In conclusion, CAF sent its best wishes to the Nigerian, Moroccan, and South African women’s football teams for their upcoming matches in the round of 16. South Africa will face the Netherlands on Sunday, the Super Falcons will meet England on Monday, and Morocco will take on France on Tuesday.
