Senator Uba Sani, the Governor of Kaduna State, has taken a compassionate step towards addressing the needs of the less privileged in the region. During the swearing-in ceremony of 14 commissioners for his new cabinet, the Governor revealed his plans to establish a Trust Fund dedicated to supporting the poor, underserved, and vulnerable individuals in Kaduna State.

Governor Sani expressed his commitment to this cause by pledging to donate 50% of his salary to the Trust Fund for the next two years. This move is part of his efforts to reduce the cost of governance and prioritize the welfare of those who are in need. A committee will soon be set up to develop a Framework for the Establishment of the Trust Fund, ensuring transparency and effective management.

Addressing the challenges facing the nation, the Governor emphasized the need for belt-tightening and prudent financial management. He urged his new cabinet members to lead by example and embrace a lifestyle of simplicity and dedication to public service.

Governor Sani stressed the importance of financial inclusion for all citizens and announced the signing of an Executive Order on Financial Inclusion in Kaduna State. This initiative aims to integrate the poor and underserved, both in rural and urban areas, into the financial ecosystem, granting them access to opportunities provided by the State, Federal Government, and donor agencies.

The Governor also highlighted the key areas of focus for his administration, which include Safety and Security, Infrastructure Upgrades, Strengthening Institutions, Trade and Investment, Agriculture, Investing in Human Capital, and Engaging Citizens. However, he emphasized that the transformation of rural areas through infrastructural development remains a central priority.

The newly sworn-in commissioners were reminded of the high expectations placed upon them, as they are expected to work as a cohesive team and deliver on the administration’s 7-Point Agenda. Performance will be closely monitored, and excuses for lackluster results will not be accepted.

Governor Uba Sani assured the commissioners of his support and commitment to providing them with the necessary tools to excel in their respective roles. He concluded by reiterating the administration’s determination to positively impact the lives of the poor, underserved, voiceless, and vulnerable members of Kaduna State.
