Don Jazzy Explains Why He Didn’t Sign Davido and Wizkid

Music producer Don Jazzy recently revealed the reasons why he couldn’t sign Afrobeat stars Davido and Wizkid to his now-defunct record label, Mo’ Hits. Don Jazzy co-founded Mo’ Hits Records with D’banj in 2006. However, he explained that he couldn’t sign Wizkid because Banky W’s EME label got to him first. Don Jazzy expressed that signing Wizkid would have been amazing. He also mentioned other artists he would have been interested in signing, including Davido, Falz, Simi, and Teni. Don Jazzy recognized the talent of these artists but noted that signing every artist is not feasible, as there are factors to consider, such as existing artists on his roster and the resources required to nurture and promote new talents.
