The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has reaffirmed its support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while declaring its determination to secure all National and State Assembly seats in Anambra State.

The position, contained in a statement issued on Sunday by Chinedu Obigwe, National Coordinator of the APGA Media Forum, follows a directive attributed to the party’s national leader and Anambra State Governor, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, who, according to party sources, has urged members to back Tinubu’s second-term bid but remain resolute in delivering victories for APGA candidates in the Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections.

Obigwe cautioned the public against what he described as “misleading political gimmicks” by opposition figures, insisting that APGA’s stance should not be misconstrued as an endorsement of candidates from rival parties.

Specifically, he dismissed a campaign poster allegedly circulated by an APC House of Representatives aspirant, Maxwell S. C. Okoye, which features images of Governor Soludo, President Tinubu and the aspirant, suggesting a unified progressive front.

He described the move as deceptive, stressing that the governor’s declaration of “progressives working together” refers strictly to the working relationship between the Anambra State Government and the Federal Government under Tinubu, and not support for candidates of the All Progressives Congress in legislative contests within the state.

Obigwe maintained that Governor Soludo would personally lead campaigns encouraging Anambra voters to support Tinubu’s re-election, while mobilising support for APGA candidates across all legislative positions once they emerge.

“In Anambra, it is Tinubu for President and APGA for Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly,” he said.

The development underscores APGA’s long-standing strategy of aligning with the Federal Government while maintaining dominance in state politics.
