The North Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has thrown its weight behind Senator Abdulaziz Yari to deliver President Bola Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Saleh Zazzaga, the Forum congratulated Yari on his appointment as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
It also congratulated Hon James Faleke and Okpokwu Ogenyi on their appointments as Deputy Director-General, Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring, and North Central Coordinator, respectively.
The Forum described Yari as a founding member of the APC and highlighted his experience in governance and party administration.
According to the statement, the former Zamfara State Governor represented Anka/Talata Mafara Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011, and also served as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum after succeeding Rotimi Amaechi on May 18, 2015.
The Forum noted that Yari previously served as National Financial Secretary of the ANPP and as chairman of the party in Zamfara State.
The North Central APC stakeholders urged party leaders to support the Presidential Campaign Council to ensure Tinubu’s re-election.
“We restate our commitment to Mr President’s election for a second term in office and pledge our full and total support to the Presidential Campaign Council led by Senator Abdulaziz Yari.
“We will work with the council, especially the North-Central Coordinator Okpokwu Ogenyi, to actualize our promise to deliver six million votes for Mr President in the North-Central in the 2027 election,” the statement said.
The Forum expressed confidence that Faleke and Ogenyi have the requisite experience for their roles in the campaign structure.
