The Nembe Community in Port Harcourt, Rivers, has endorsed President Bola Tinubu and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the 2027 elections.
The endorsed candidates include Rt. Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli for the Senate and Hon. Jonathan Robinson Obuebite for the House of Representatives.
The community also endorsed APC candidates contesting the Bayelsa State House of Assembly election from Nembe Local Government Area.
The endorsement was made on Friday when the community hosted a delegation of the APC Nembe Local Government Area chapter.
The delegation was led by the Bayelsa APC Deputy Chairman, Hon. Ayobegha James, and Chief Kuroghofa Walter Benwari.
Speaking at the event, community leaders said the endorsement was based on the candidates’ capacity, experience and commitment to good governance.
The leaders included Chief Rev. Fente Thomas Abrakassa, Gbudugbudu 1 of the Niger Delta, Hon. Amunaboye Clement and Mr Tuguemi Ebi Inala.
They said the candidates had demonstrated the capacity to promote development, prosperity and good governance in Nembe, Bayelsa and Nigeria.
The community leaders commended Gov. Douye Diri for promoting peace and development across Nembe and Bayelsa State.
They also acknowledged the Nembe Unity Bridge, Nembe-Brass Road and other infrastructure projects executed by the state government.
The community pledged to mobilise votes for all endorsed candidates, from the presidential election to the State House of Assembly.
In his remarks, James commended the Port Harcourt Nembe Community for its unity and support for the APC.
He assured the community that the party remained committed to policies promoting prosperity, security and infrastructure development in Nembe and Bayelsa.
Benwari urged community members to sustain their support for the APC and work collectively for victory in the 2027 elections.
The endorsed candidates expressed appreciation to the community for its confidence and pledged to remain accessible to the people.
They also promised to maintain strong grassroots connections and make the welfare of their constituents central to their representation.
The event was attended by several traditional rulers, community leaders, politicians and other stakeholders from Nembe and Bayelsa State.
Among them were Chief Barigha David Ikurite Yekorogha, Chief Alfred Imbasi Atiegha, Chief Alfred Ikiba Amabebe and Chief Beinmote Egi-Dani.
Others included Chief Benjamin Abrakasa Claud, Chief Befie Inemo Igbeta-Fiberesima, Dr Godson Omubo Dede and Hon. Albert Stanley-Obi.
Also present were Hon. Anthony Zuokemefa, Hon. Paingha MacDonald and the APC State Deputy Woman Leader, Mrs Loveth Obabofa Eldred.
The Vice Chairman of Nembe LGA, Lady Ikio Daniel, HRH Gelegukuma Apiri Harrison and Prof. Waribugo Silver also attended the event.
Other dignitaries included HRH Inaingo Sambo, DSP Rufus Izzi (rtd.), Hon. Ayebainaemi Sydney Keremah and Chief Fyne Ikierigha Allen.
Hon. Serece Bomo, Hon. Okorigbanyo Yousuo, Hon. Justice Bello, Dr Mayomi Asuku, Hon. Diepreye Bob and Hon. Aneri Obuebite were also present.
Diepreye Thom-Okoro, Esq., was among other dignitaries who attended the endorsement ceremony.
