There are strong indications that former governor of Plateau state senator Joshua Dariye, has joined the race for 2023 Senatorial election in the state.

Dariye it was gathered will run on the platform of the Labour party which has allegedly offered the seat to him.

Dariye was jailed for corruption but granted state pardon in April this year.

He was however released from prison on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Plateau State chapter of the Labour Party has concluded arrangements to receive the former Plateau governor from Abuja to pick the party’s senatorial form.

A Labour Party official who preferred anonymity told the press: “Yes, it is true that he (Dariye) will be running for a Senate seat. We are making arrangements for him to come from Abuja for the senatorial declaration.”

With this development, Dariye, who represented Plateau Central at the upper chamber of the National Assembly under the same LP between 2011 and 2015 before defecting to All Progressives Congress (APC), will do battle with Diket Plang of the APC and Golkuna Gotom of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
