    10-month-old-baby who survived Yelwata killings, discharged from hospital

    The young lad in his tenth month whose identity is known as Aondosor Targule Aya, was the recent massacre and narrowly survived and was discharged yesterday at Benue State Teaching hospital (BSUTH).

    It was discovered Aondosor sustained multiple machete wounds on the left side of his buttocks during the deadly attack and massacre which led to the death of over 200 persons, including children and women by Fulani invaders.

    The father of the survivor, Mr Targule Aya, who spoke to the New National Star on Sunday in Makurdi, Benue State, disclosed his wife and three children were among these remaining survivors.

    He was yesterday, after months of medical care and recovery at the Teaching hospital in the state.

    His father expressed deep gratitude to the BSUTH management and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) for the care given to his only surviving child.

    Targule also thanked the doctors and nurses for their dedication and tireless efforts to save Aondosoo’s life, despite the loss of his wife and three other children in the incident.

    He prayed that God would bless and reward all the hospital staff for their compassion and support during the family’s most difficult moment.

    According to him, since they have no home to return to, his sister will return to the North Bank area with Aondosor to stay with their aunty, while he returns to the IDP camp at International Market, George Akume Way in Makurdi.
